Brambledown Grading System

A player's individual grading may be unreliable unless he has played both frequently and with a number of partners. Two individual monthly lists are therefore produced. To be included in either of these lists a player must have played at least once in the last three months. For an 'A' listing a player must have played at least 20 times in all, with at least 3 different partners in the the last 6 months. Those included in the 'B' list have played at least 3 times in all but do not meet the requirements for the 'A' List.

Pair grades are based on games as a partnership only. For inclusion in the Pairs List a pair must have played at least five times together, at least one of which must have been in the last three months. The red or blue figure after a partnership's names show the difference between their partnership grade and the average of their individual grades. Thus, a blue figure indicates that they have performed better as a pair than the computer would have expected from their individual grades, and a red figure that they have performed worse as a pair than expected.

All living players who have ever acquired a grade are shown in the Alpha list. This will be updated annually or as required.
